The internationally acclaimed Cape Town Opera chorus will wow audiences with a varied music programme from South African choral works to standard operatic repertoire, (includes choruses from Don Pasquale, Romeo et Juliette, Lucia di Lammermoor, Faust, Casanova, Nabucco, La Traviate, La Boheme). Conducted and accompanied by Cape Town Opera’s energetic Chorus Master, Albert Horne, this concert performed to rave reviews in Germany in 2009 and is now being staged at the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre, which is situated on the slopes of the Papegaaiberg, overlooking the magnificent Stellenbosch mountain range – the evenings promise to be a 2010 musical hit. The concert features soloists South African soprano Angela Kerrison, just back from a three year European stint (last SA performance was Pamina in William Kentridge’s Magic Flute) and tenor Given Nkosi who sang with Renee Fleming on her 2009 SA visit. read more
